These hoops are excellent value. The 8" tapered 'carrots' ensure that they sit firmly in the ground and these carrots are slimline so when removed the carrot holes are about a third of the size of normal carrots. This can be a big advantage to a club that uses more than one setting on their lawn as large hoop holes can disrupt play. The uprights are 16mm diameter and 4" apart giving a clearance of 3/8" using a standard ball. Steel hoops are considerably cheaper than cast iron which typically cost £300 to £400 per set. Great for clubs wanting to set half sized lawns for beginners as they are 1/4" wider than regulation hoops. The slimline carrot holes are about a third of the size of a standard carrot so are far less disruptive when removed. The blue topped hoop is hoop 1 and the red topped hoop is Rover ie the last hoop to be run.

Steel hoops

Product Review

These are 11mm diameter steel hoops which are sturdy and unlikely to bend in normal use. Quick and easy to set out and they will provide a good challenge for Garden Croquet. Downside? They do not have carrots so can get loose in the ground after a while. We use a set of these at Bygrave and in our ground they normally sit firmly, if one of them does loosen we push it in a bit more or move it a couple of inches.
